Canaleros call in Penedo and Torres, lose Parris

[HEXAGONAL COUNTDOWN] Panama national team stars Jaime Penedo and Gabriel Torres, who recently debuted with the LA Galaxy and Colorado Rapids, respectively, are among the players called in for the Canaleros' World Cup 2014 qualifiers against Jamaica and Honduras. FC Dallas striker Blas Perez was also called up, but he and defensive linchpin Felipe Baloy are suspended for the Jamaica match because of yellow-card accumulation. The Canaleros also got bad news on Sunday as starting right back Leonel Parris broke his right fibula.

Parris was playing for Tauro FC in a league game against Arabe Unido when he was injured. He's expected to be out 4-6 weeks.

Notable by his absence is veteran forward Luis Tejada.
