Chelsea on Wednesday confirmed the signing of Willian on a five-year deal. The London club struck a $50 million deal with Anzhi Makhachkala for the 25-year-old last week, but the deal had been subject to a work permit, which was granted to the Brazilian forward on Wednesday, following a hearing.
Meanwhile, another Anzhi player, Samuel Eto’o, is reportedly in talks over a move to Stamford Bridge that would see him reunited with Blues coach Jose Mourinho, with whom Eto’o won the UEFA Champions League at Inter Milan in 2010. According to the Daily Mail, the 32-year-old will sign a one-year deal with the Blues.
Sky Sports understands that the Eto’o deal will see striker Demba Ba return to Newcastle United on loan.
