FC Bolts Celtic tie Inter Milan and QPR

[INTERNATIONAL SOCCER SUMMIT] The FC Bolts Celtic from Boston earned its second draw at the 2013 Capelli Sport/Newark Liberty International Soccer Summit in Newark, N.J., when it tied Inter Milan, 0-0.  Harrison Swartz and Steve DeLeo had scored to give FC Bolts Celtic a 2-2 tie with Queens Park Rangers in the opener. Host St. Benedict's Prep, the fall national high school champion in 2011 and 2012, and PDA both lost their first two games.

St. Benedict's Prep fell to Maccabi Haifa of Israel, 4-1, and Liverpool, 3-1. The Gray Bees have gotten goals from Juan Parada and Jose Medeiros.

Inter Milan edged perennial Development Academy powerhouse PDA, 1-0. PDA then fell to QPR, 5-1. N.C. State-bound Zach Knudson had temporarily evened the score for PDA at 1-1 in the 41st minute.

Maccabi has been the dominant team, following up on its win over St. Benedict's with a 7-1 win over Fuddercol of Colombia. Liverpool beat Fuddercol, 2-0, in the fourth game of the first day of play.

Group play continues Friday and placement matches will be held Saturday at NJIT’s Lubetkin Field.
