[WOMEN’S PREVIEW: Friday] No. 6 Virginia kicks off a Friday night doubleheader at Kloeckner Stadium when it hosts No. 7 Penn State, which it hasn’t beaten in theregular season since 1997. The Cavs are led by Morgan Brian, who will join the U.S. women’s national team for its match against Mexico on Wednesday.

Brian was named MVP at the Kloeckner Classic last weekend after recording a goal and three assists in Cav victories over VCU (4-2) and Santa Clara (4-0).

Maya Hayes, Brian’s teammate on the 2012 U.S. U-20 World Cup championship team, leads Penn State with two goals and an assist.

The NittanyLions have beaten Virginia at Kloeckner in each of the past two seasons. The Cavaliers haven’t defeated Penn State in the regular season since a 1997 win in Happy Valley.

#25 Marquette  vs. #2 UCLA (in South Bend, Ind.)
Marquette, which split in Oregon lastweekend, will be looking for its first win in three meetings with the Bruins. UCLA wasn’t tested in its first two games, outshooting Northeastern and Cal State Northridge by a margin of 31-4 win routeto 4-0 and 3-0 wins.

#19 Florida vs. #5 Florida State
Freshman Savannah Jordan had five of six goals asthe Gators opened with 3-1 wins over FGCU and Oregon State. She’ll go up against one of the nation’s top keepers in FSU’s Kelsey Wys.
