Taitague headed for Manchester United tryout

[AMERICANS ABROAD] Nick Taitague, a 14-year freshman at James River High School in Midlothian, Va., will head to England for a 10-day tryout with Manchester United beginning Oct. 5.

Taitague recently traveled with the U.S. under-15 national team to Mexico for the Copa Mexico. The nucleus of that team is the core of the new U-17 national team in residency in Bradenton, Fla. In addition to those players born in 1998, the team included players born in 1999 like Taitague, as well as Tyler Adams and Edwin Lara, who are playing for MLS academy teams and are both headed to Spain with the U-17s in October.

Taitague plays for FC Richmond that also includes Kevin Coleman, who entered U-17 residency after the Copa Mexico.

Former Miami Fusion forward Greg Simmonds, whom Taitague works out with at his One Touch facility, told Richmond station NBC 12 that the young left winger has the "it factor" to make it.
