Timbers are MLS's most-improved team

[BY THE NUMBERS] Who's the improved MLS team? The Portland Timbers have 17 more points in 2013 than they did after the same number of games in 2012, leading Colorado (+15) and New England (+12). All three teams didn't make the playoffs in 2012 but find themselves in the playoff tier in 2013. Conversely, the three teams that slipped the most -- D.C. United (-32), San Jose (-19) and Chicago (-14) -- have all gone from 2012 playoff teams to teams sitting below in the red zone in 2013.
