[UCLA-UC RIVERSIDE: Men] No. 12 UCLA got goals from three transfers -- German
Leo Stolz (George Mason), Spaniard
Victor Munoz (Iona) and New Zealand U-17
Jordan Vale (Syracuse) -- as it improved to 5-2-1 with a 3-0 win over
previously unbeaten UC Riverside. The Bruins have now won all 14 meetings with the Highlanders.
Stolz put UCLA ahead from the penalty spot in the 20th minute with his fifth goal of the
year. He has now scored in four of the last five matches. Right before the half, UCLA added a second goal as Munoz put a terrific chip over Highlander goalie
K.C.
John following a pass from freshman
Gage Zerboni.
The Bruins put the game away in the 49th minute when Zerboni put a beautiful cross into
the box to Vale, who finished the play with a great header.
“We’re happy to have ended our non-conference schedule with a 3-0 win,” UCLA coach
Jorge Salcedo said. “Gage Zerboni had two great assists tonight, which shows that we have some good attacking depth on this team.”
UC Riverside fell to 5-1-2.
