The U.S. Soccer Foundation received $2.6 million in funding from the Corporation for National and Community Service’s Social
Innovation Fund to support U.S. Soccer Foundation's afterschool youth development program, Soccer for Success.
With this funding, the Foundation will able to continue its work to impact
the well-being of children in urban, underserved communities as well as grow the sport of soccer nationwide. For more information, please feel free to contact me.
Soccer for Success is a
free, afterschool, youth development program that uses soccer as a tool to combat childhood obesity and promote healthy lifestyles for children in underserved communities. Through a network of
community-based partners and organizations, Soccer for Success will serve approximately 18,000 children in 24 cities across the country during the 2013-2014 program year.
additional funding from the Social Innovation Fund, the program will expand to serve approximately 2,000 additional children starting in fall 2014.
