Flyers remain perfect with overtime win

[DAYTON-INCARNATE WORD: Men] Andres Acevedo’s goal in the 107th minute gave Dayton a 3-2 win over Division I newcomer Incarnate Word Friday night to preserve the Flyers' unbeaten record at 10-0-0.

Christopher Lenning's goal in the 54th minute put Dayton ahead, but it wasn't long though before UIW evened the score with a header of its own from Vincent Bailey in the 65th minute.

UIW pulled ahead of Dayton just a few minutes later on Bailey's second goal and held the lead until the 81st minute when a cross into the Cardinal box was headed around a few times before falling to junior Greg Enstone, who headed in the tying goal for UD.

The deadlock was finally broken in overtime when Acevedo made a perfectly timed run to the left of Amass Amankona, who picked him out precisely. The senior forward from Rego Park, N.Y., controlled the ball, set up his shot, and delivered on the game-winning goal for Dayton.

The 10-0-0 start is the best in the Flyers' history.  Incarnate Word is 3-4-0 in its first season as a Division I program.
