[STANFORD-UCLA: Women] Stanford, whose 44-game Pac-12 winning streak was snapped on Sunday, lost its second straight conference match when it fell at home (again)to No. 2 UCLA, 2-1, on freshman Lauren Kaskie‘s first goal of her collegiate career. The Bruins snapped a seven-match losing streak to the No. 4 Cardinal.
 
Kaskie, who had just entered the game in the last minute of the first overtime, started the play in the back third after taking control of the ball on a turnover. After a series of passesinvolving Megan Oyster, Sarah Killion, Sam Mewis, Darian Jenkins and Chelsea Stewart.

The Canadian international was alone on the left side but as defenders closed in, she passed backto Jenkins at the top of the box. Jenkins slotted the pass to Kaskie, and the freshman sent a left-footed shot from the edge of the box high over Stanford goalkeeper Jane Campbell for the game-winner in the 106th minute.
 
Jenna Richmond‘s first goal of the year had put UCLA ahead in the 62ndminute. The Bruins led until the 89th minute when Lo’eau LaBonta tied it up and forced overtime. Courtney Verloo lofteda cross to LaBonta, who chested the ball down, got ahead of the Bruin defense and shot past an onrushing keeper Katelyn Rowland into the far corner.
 
Stanford nearly scored a golden goal in the first overtime when three consecutive shots were blocked, including a shot by Chioma Ubogagu that wassaved off the line by defender Abby Dahlkemper.
 
After losing to Arizona State on Sunday, Stanford suffered back-to-back losses for the firsttime since 2006 — and the first time at home since 2003.
