Italy Revises Sanctions for Racist, Abusive Fans

Italy’s soccer federation (FIGC) on Wednesday adjusted its rules on racist and so-called ‘territorial’ discrimination so that the governing body will now take into account how many fans are involved in the abuse. Now, racist or insulting banners or chanting will cause only those sections of a given stadium that were involved to be closed off for subsequent games, instead of the whole thing.
