COLLEGE: St. Louis men suffer first loss

In another week that illustrated the parity in men's college soccer, Maryland and Old Dominion maintained their unblemished records, but Saint Louis suffered its first loss of the season. Five Top 10 teams lost at least once.

Maryland held on to beat No. 10 Wake Forest, 1-0, and Old Dominion breezed past UMBC and Campbell, extending its shutout streak to eight games. Unranked Louisville (6-3-0) handled the third-ranked Billikens, 2-0.

In weekday games, Seton Hall downed No. 5 St. John's, San Jose State beat No. 6 Santa Clara and William & Mary edged No. 7 Virginia in overtime.

On Friday, Indiana held a 2-0 lead on defending Big Ten champion Penn State when lightning halted play. After a two-hour delay, the game was canceled and the teams will try to replay the match later.
