'All good things come to an end'

St. Benedict's 71-game winning streak -- the longest in New Jersey prep history -- ended as it fell to Salesianum of Wilmington, Del., 1-0 on Dylan Huber's overtime goal. "The streak was eventually going to come to an end, we were just hoping that it wasn't going to be today," Coach Jim Wandling said. "That's the approach that we've taken the last 30 or 40 game. All good things come to an end, but at St. Benedict's, success is never final and we'll start putting ourselves back together." The loss brought disbelief and tears from the St. Benedict's players, but Salesianum coach Scott Mosier said
St. Benedict's remained the model for all the other boys programs to emulate. "I'm sure they're upset about this loss," he said, "but they deserve a lot of credit for being the class of the country."
