First AAC win no fluke for Bearcats

[CINCINNATI-LOUISVILLE: Men] Cincinnati's first win after five losses in the new American Athletic Conference was a big one as the Bearcats knocked off No. 9 Louisville, 2-0, in their 2013 home finale at Gettler Stadium on Wednesday. The win was no fluke as UC outshot the Cardinals, 16-6.

Cincinnati jumped on the Cardinals early as Alan Rovira played a ball to John Manga, who took it into the box and then slid it past the keeper for his third goal of the year.

UC kept up the pressure, converting again in the 24th minute as Christian Myton played a ball in from the far corner and found Will Diebold, who took the pass and tucked it inside the far post for the 2-0 lead.

From there it was the defense that sealed the victory for the Bearcats. They did not allow Louisville to take a shot in the first 45 minutes, the first time this year UC did not surrender a shot in a half.
