Following a series of bizarre statements from Mario Balotelli’s agent linking him with a move to Chelsea, AC Milan Vice President Adriano Galliani reiterated that the club’s star striker is going nowhere. Balotelli only signed with the Italian giant from Manchester City in January, but his repeated disciplinary problems and the constant attention he receives from the Italian media have all raised questions about his future.
“There is absolutely no problem with Balotelli,” Galliani noted on Wednesday. “Mario will continue to be our star. He is not going anywhere. He is a fascinating individual with global appeal. He will stay with Milan because he is happy here and has a long contract with the club.”
Earlier in the week, Mino Raiola, Balotelli’s agent, suggested that the Italy striker would relish a reunion with Chelsea’s Jose Mourinho, who coached Balotelli during his two years at the helm of Inter Milan. “Balotelli and Jose Mourinho could be reunited because they know each other and they didn’t leave each other with hate," Raiola told the radio show Tiki Taka. “They have remained in contact and there is mutual respect.”
Balotelli is contracted to Milan until 2017.
