[CONCACAF UNDER-17 CHAMPIONSHIP]
Two days after being eliminated in qualifying for the 2014 Under-17 Women's World Cup, the USA took it out on host Jamaica with an
8-0 win to take third place at Concacaf U-17 Women's Championship.
It was 4-0 before 28 minutes, and the USA finished with a 41-1 edge in shots. It has outscored its opponents 111-3 in
four Concacaf U-17 Women's Championships and never lost a game, but it has now failed to qualify twice, being eliminated in shootouts both times.
Midfielder Mallory Pugh
led the USA with two goals and two assists. Taylor Otto
and Madison Haley
also scored twice
Pugh and Zoe Redei
led the USA in scoring in the tournament with five goals each. The USA finished the tournament with a 26-1 edge in
goals. The lone goal it gave up was to Texan Briana Woodall
in the 1-1 tie with Mexico in the semifinals.
Mexico defeated the USA 4-2 in a shootout
and went on to beat Canada by the same score in a shootout in the final after their game ended 0-0. Nov. 9 in Montego Bay Jamaica 0 USA 8.
