Former Atletico Madrid striker Jose Luis Caminero, who starred for Spain at the 1994 World Cup in which he scored three goals, is facing four years in prison and a fine of 4 million euros ($5.4 million) on charges of laundering drug money. Spanish police arrested Caminero, who is Atleti’s current sporting director, in 2008 after a search of his car revealed more than $78,000 in 500-euro notes. According to Prosecutors, Caminero’s job for his Mexican and Colombian drug cartel employers was to change small notes into larger ones.
