[IVY LEAGUE: Men] Penn got goals from
Nicky Yin and
Duke Lacroix in the first 12
minutes to beat Harvard, 2-0, at Soldiers Field Soccer Stadium and clinch its first outright Ivy League title since the great team of 1972.
The title was the eighth overall for the
Quakers, who pressed early and had chances from Lacroix and
Alec Neumann in the first four minutes saved by
Evan
Mendez.
Shortly afterwards, Penn took the lead when Yin, a senior, scored his first collegiate goal with a laser to the top right corner.
Harvard's best chance came in
the 90th minute when it was awarded a penalty kick but
Kevin Harrington hit the post.
