Four numbers to remember

[AUSTRIA-USA] By just about every measure, this has been a very successful year for the U.S. national team. It won its third third Hexagonal and fifth Gold Cup title. It enters Tuesday's season finale against Austria at Vienna's Ernst-Happel-Stadion (TV: NBC Sports Network and UniMas, 2:45 pm ET) already assured of finishing with the best winning percentage in a single season and will look to add to its record for wins and best goal differential.

4.
Alejandro Bedoya, who had not joined the national team on a regular basis under Jurgen Klinsmann until the 2013 Gold Cup, is the only player to have started the last four games -- the 2-0 wins over Mexico and Jamaica, 3-2 win at Panama and 0-0 tie at Scotland.

16.
The USA enters the final of the year with a 16-3-3 record. Its 16 wins are the most in a year, breaking the record set in 2005 and 2009 when it won 13 games.

25.
This is the USA’s first visit to Austria in 25 years since a World Cup warmup game in April 1998 when it won, 3-0. The game was memorable for the introduction of relative unknowns Chad Deering and Brian Maisonneuve as starters in midfield in the USA's 3-6-1.

Plus-29.
The USA has outscored its opponents 51-22 this year for a goal differential of plus-29. The record for a single season came in the USA’s 2000 campaign when it outscored its opponents 34-11 (plus-23 goal differential).

Where's the consistency of making things happen and execution; the missing elements for success.

Strange -- according to Paul Gardner this season has been a disaster because the US lost a friendly to Belgium. What good is a Gold Cup, WC qualification, winning the Hexagonal, best win record ever, etc. if you lose a friendly to Belgium? Time has run out for Klinsmann!
