[AMERICANS ABROAD] Paul Arriola’s fall campaign with Tijuana is over — the defending champion Xolos didn’t make the playoffs — but he’s helped its under-20 teamreach the semifinals of Torneo Nacional Juvenil Sub-20 with assists in both legs against Chiapas, the second before a crowd of almost 10,000 fans at Estadio Caliente. Former U.S. U-17 Stevie Rodriguez added goals in both games.

Arriola set up the opening goals in both games, while Rodriguez clinched the 4-1 aggregate victory with agolazo from 25 yards in the second game at home.

Another former U.S. U-17, Alejandro Guido, came off the bench in both legs. In the second leg, hecame on for the injured Arriola.

Tijuana opens its semifinal series against Leon on Wednesday.
