Brazil Players' Union Threatens to Strike

A new Brazilian players’ union has warned that the 2014 Brazilian season might not start on schedule if the authorities do not listen to its demands for a shorter season, fewer games, financial fair play rules and a longer preseason in 2015. Corinthians captain Paulo Andre, who leads the Common Sense FC union, promised that he and his organizations members, which total 1,000, will act if changes to the schedule are not made after the 2014 World Cup.
