COLLEGE: UNC clinches another ACC regular-season women's title

No. 1 North Carolina clinched the ACC regular-season title for the third straight year with a 3-1 win at No. 6 Virginia Sunday afternoon before a crowd of 1,992 fans at Klockner Stadium.

U.S. internationals Lori Chalupny, Heather O'Reilly and Lindsay Tarpley scored for UNC.

No. 2 Notre Dame posted a 2-0 win at Seton Hall Sunday afternoon to extend its shutout streak to 10 games, the fifth longest in Division I history.

In a key Top 25 clash, senior forward Heidi Drummond scored two goals and added an assist to lead No. 5 Penn State past No. 7 West Virginia, 4-1, and snap the Mountaineers' regular-season home win streak at 18 games.

No. 4 UCLA beat No. 25 Arizona State, 4-1. No. 9 Duke fell to Clemson, 1-0. No. 10 Colorado beat No. 23 Texas, 1-0, and lost at No. 13 Texas A&M, 2-0. No. 11 Pepperdine lost at home to No. 3 Portland, 2-1, and Gonzaga, 1-0. No. 12 Florida fell to Mississippi, 1-0. No. 13 Texas A&M lost to Nebraska, 2-1. No. 17 Stanford dropped a 1-0 decision to Oregon State. No. 18 Wake Forest was crushed by Maryland, 5-1. No. 19 USC lost to Arizona, 1-0, and beat No. 25 Arizona State, 3-1.

No. 8 Santa and No. 15 Tennessee tied St. Mary's, 0-0, and Vanderbilt, 2-2, respectively.
