De la Tejera scores in first leg of Mexican final

[AMERICANS ABROAD] Former FC Dallas academy star Jose de la Tejera scored for Santos in its 2-2 tie with Leon in the first leg of the Liga MX sub-20 final.

U.S. U-20 midfielder Benjamin Joya came on as a substitute for Santos' top young prospect, Herbert Robinson, whose father is an American.

De la Tejera also scored in the semifinals, where Santos knocked off Guadalajara, for which Juan Pablo Ocegueda, another U.S. U-20 product, started at left back.

Leon beat Tijuana, which featured Americans Steve Rodriguez, Alejandro Guido  and Paul Arriola, in the other semifinal.
