Neves scored the only goal in a 1-0 victory over the Toronto Lynx in the U-17 boys division at the USL Super Y-League North American Finals at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. BW Gottschee (New
York) and West Pines United (Florida) both captured two championships at the five-day national finals.
U-16 BOYS. A year after finishing second in the
U-15 boys division, Real Maryland Futures beat the Ottawa Fury, 1-0, on
Juwan Kearson’s first-half finish.
U-15 BOYS. West Pines United (Florida) claimed a 4-2 victory over Southern Soccer Academy (Georgia) in the U-15 boys championship.
Stefan
Asemota had a pair of goals for West Pines, while
Alex Dixon scored what proved to be the game-winner after SSA had rallied back from an early two-goal
deficit.
U-14 BOYS. A late goal by
Conor McGlynn proved the difference in BW Gottschee's 1-0 win over the Long
Island Rough Riders in the under-14 boys championship.
U-13 BOYS. Daniel Zvi had two goals and an assist to
lead BW Gottschee back from an early deficit for a 3-1 victory over the Northern Virginia Royals in the under-13 boys championship.
U-12 BOYS.
Waza FC East won the under-12 boys championship with a 2-0 victory over Cedar Stars Academy (New Jersey).
U-17 GIRLS. Waza FC East (Michigan) claimed
the U-17 championship with a four-game sweep, winning, 2-0, over Virginia Alliance in the final.
Nora Broderick led Waza with a goal and an assist.
U-16 GIRLS. The Seacoast United Mariners (Maine) won their first national title with a 2-0 win over the Florida Fire Juniors on goals from
Elizabeth Lane and
Mikayla Mann. The win in the final was revenge for the Fire's victory in group play.
U-15 GIRLS. Mequon (Wisc.) United also claimed it first title with a 3-0 victory in a penalty shootout over Super Nova FC after the two teams had played to a scoreless
draw through regulation and overtime.
U-14 GIRLS. Internationals Soccer Club (Ohio) took the girls title in the under-14 division with a penalty
shootout over Seacoast United Premier (New Hampshire).
U-13 GIRLS. Alliance Academy Black's girls team captured the U-13 championship with a
decisive 4-0 win over Internationals Soccer Club.
U-12 GIRLS. West Pines also claimed the U-12 championship in girls play with a 1-0 win over
another Florida team, FC America, as
Lauren Lowe scored the only goal of the game.
