MLS: Burn acquires Garlick from Colorado

The Dallas Burn acquired goalkeeper Scott Garlick from the Colorado Rapids in exchange for the Burn's second-round pick in the 2005 MLS SuperDraft.

Garlick, an MLS All-Star selection in 2000, currently ranks second all-time in league history in saves (763) and is third all-time in wins with 81 and minutes (14,901). He has played for Colorado since 2001 after joining the Rapids from Tampa Bay in exchange for Adin Brown and Scott Vermillion.

Prior to joining the Mutiny, Garlick, 31, spent the 1997 and '98 seasons with D.C. United. He was the starting goalkeeper in United's 2-1 victory over Colorado in MLS Cup '97.

The move was the second the Burn has made to shore up its defense. It obtained defender Steve Jolley from the MetroStars for defender Tenywa Bonseu and a third-round selection in the 2004 MLS SuperDraft.
