Nine coaching jobs filled this year, two still vacant

[MLS 2014 COUNTDOWN] Moves by Montreal and Real Salt Lake leave only two MLS coaching vacancies to be filled. FC Dallas hoped to have a replacement for Schellas Hyndman by the end of the week, while there was no word on when the Chivas USA position might be filled. They'll be the 10th and 11th jobs filled in a year that has seen more than half of MLS clubs have new coaches take charge.

On Tuesday, FC Dallas technical director Fernando Clavijo told Dallas reporters Tuesday that there were three finalists for the Dallas job and one of them was assistant Marco Ferruzzi. Another finalist was believed to be Houston Dynamo assistant Steve Ralston.

LA Galaxy assistant Curt Onalfo was the one name mentioned in connection with the Chivas USA job, but Jeff Carlisle of ESPN tweeted that Onalfo had pulled out of the running to replace Jose Luis Real, who returned to Mexico to take the Chivas de Guadalajara job.
