Voting was done by 56 current or former players, coaches and administrators, as well as media members, for the team that was selected as part of the wrapup of U.S. Soccer's centennial anniversary in 2013.
Midfielders Michelle Akers and Kristine Lilly were both one vote shy of being unanimous selections. Biefeld, Hamm, Akers and Lilly were all part of the 1991 and 1999 world championship teams, as well as the 1996 Olympic gold-medal team.
Three active players -- defender Christie Rampone and forwards Alex Morgan and Abby Wambach -- were voted to the Women's Best XI
The closest voting was for the third forward, where Morgan narrowly beat out Carin Jennings, April Heinrichs and Tiffeny Milbrett.

Only issue is the omission of Milbrett.
Alex Morgan is great but.....the vote was split between the 3 players below her.
All 3 -- at this time -- are more deserving than Alex. Time will tell if this holds true. The rest are all 'Legends' and role models for the Women's game.

Useless voting...hard to mix generations and make a team? For what? This "ALL TIME" team will not play together! Simply useless line up...
Cummon Luis, don't be such a grump. These ladies in various combinations formed at least four generations of great teams, just shows you what women athletes can due given an even break, given Title IX.
