Howard red-carded as Sunderland upsets Everton

The only major upset in EPL Boxing Day action came with last-place Sunderland's 1-0 win over Everton, which saw U.S. goalkeeper Tim Howard ejected.

Ki Sung-Yeung converted a 25th-minute penalty kick called after he was taken down by Howard, who was sent off for the foul. Everton is in fifth place after only its second loss of the season.
