Howard's Boxing Day nightmare began when his short goal kick was not controlled by Leon Osman. Korean Ki Sung-Yueng stole the ball, raced in on goal and was tripped by Howard in the area. Ki converted the penalty himself to give the Black Cats their third win in 18 games.
Everton remained in fifth place but dropped from two to five points off the lead now held outright by Arsenal.
Stoke City was winning 1-0 at Newcastle when a pair of red cards three minutes apart late in the first half left Cameron and his backline teammates under siege for the remainder of the game that they lost, 5-1. The five goals Stoke gave up were the most it has conceded in more than two years.
Guzan had no chance on Dwight Gayle's goal two minutes into stoppage time that gave Crystal Palace a 1-0 win at Aston Villa, which has now lost four games in a row.

Let me repeat myself, Altidore made a bad choice to move to the BPL; he should have tried Serie-A.
He should have stayed in the Netherlands. Look at Johannsen now. I think you have to give the starting usa striker position to whomever is hot not based on history. So if Johannsen is hot he starts.
Also it is not the BPL (British Premier League) but the EPL (English Premier League). Britain would mean England, Scotland, and Wales and Nothern Ireland). Scotland has it's own premier league. Wales does roll up under EPL and Northern Irleland has no Premier league teams. I presume they would roll into Scotland because Glasgow is a short Ferry ride from Belfast.
Your geography lesson is based on the premise that the previous poster meant for the "B" in BPL to stand for "British." I assumed he meant "Barclay's", which would obviously be perfectly acceptable and accurate.
