Hannover Fires Slomka

USA international Steve Cherundolo’s Hannover on Friday fired long-serving coach Mirko Slomka for the club’s miserable first half of the season. At the Bundesliga’s winter break, Hannover is just four points above the relegation zone, having lost all eight of its away games. The club expects to appoint a new coach in the next few days, citing former Stuttgart coach Bruno Labbadia, former Hamburg coach Thorsten Fink and former Nurnberg coach Michael Wiesinger as potential replacements.
