Milan Officially Appoints Seedorf

AC Milan on Thursday appointed Clarence Seedorf as the club’s new head coach on a two-and-a-half year contract. The former Netherlands midfielder, who spent 10 years playing for Milan, announced his retirement from soccer on Tuesday in order to accept the Rossoneri job.

Former coach Massimilano Allegri was dismissed following Sunday’s 4-3 defeat at lowly Sassuolo, a result which left Milan 30 points behind Serie A leader Juventus and six points above the relegation zone. Seedorf inherits a team that has won just five and lost seven of its 19 league games.
