"They must be doing something right," said Atlanta Silverbacks technical director Eric Wynalda at a press conference in Philadelphia to announce the deal.

The new NASL Voit balls will be used for the first time at the 2014 NASL Combine Jan. 24-26 at UC Irvine and will be provided to each of the NASL teams for use during preseason training. Four clubs participated in the trial runs to pick the Voit the league will use.

"We are delighted to partner with such an illustrious manufacturer as Voit and believe this is another step forward in improving the quality of play on the pitch in the NASL," said NASL Commissioner Bill Peterson in a statement. "The quality and reliability of Voit match balls meet the high standards demanded by leagues such as Liga MX and the NASL."

Voit was established in 1922 in Worthington Ind., by a German-American entrepreneur William J. Voit.
