Dempsey joins Messi and RVP in Pepsi lineup

[SOCCER BUSINESS] American Clint Dempsey is part of Pepsi's global lineup of soccer stars that includes Leo Messi and Robin van Persie in the 2014 Pepsi Football campaign.

Pepsi's main rival, Coca-Cola, is one of FIFA's main sponsors, so it will use its stable of stars in commemorative packaging that will start appearing in markets in March.

Integrations with music, art, digital, interactive experiences and additional special products will be unveiled throughout the year.

Besides Dempsey, Messi, van Persie, other players in the Pepsi lineup include Jack Wilshere of Arsenal, Brazilian defender David Luiz of Chelsea, Belgium captain Vincent Kompany of Manchester City and Spaniard Sergio Ramos of Real Madrid. Oribe Peralta represents Mexico.
