Marco Pappa is back

[MLS 2014 COUNTDOWN] After an unsuccessful stint at Dutch club Heerenveen, Marco Pappa is back in MLS. He'll be allocated on Friday morning to the highest club in the current allocation order that picks him.

He played parts of five seasons with the Chicago Fire before being transferred to Heerenveen in August 2012. The transfer severed the Fire's rights to Pappa.

The Seattle Sounders hold the No. 1 pick in the current allocation order that it obtained from Chivas USA for Mauro Rosales' rights. The Philadelphia Union gave up the No. 1 pick to acquire Maurice Edu as a returning national team player.

-- RSL AZ, Real Salt Lake's academy team, held Real Salt Lake's senior team to a 1-1 tie in its first game of the preseason at Grande Sports World, the academy team's home.

Javier Morales put RSL ahead on a penalty kick in the 52nd minute, but the academy team equalized on Josh Doughty's goal in the 80th minute.
 
-- The Houston Dynamo opened preseason action on Wednesday with a 4-0 win in its annual scrimmage against the Dynamo Academy U-18s.

Goalscorers were Will Bruin, Spanish trialist Sito Seoane out of San Jacinto College, draft pick Mark Sherrod and Jason Johnson, the latter two set up by Brian Ownby. Houston area product Euan Holden, Stuart's younger brother, played as a guest player.
