Montreal and San Jose U-23 teams among eight new clubs

[PDL 2014 COUNTDOWN] The PDL released its schedule for the 2014 season that kicks off May 3 with 64 teams in 10 divisions. Four new teams are affiliated with pro clubs.

PDL: 2014 Schedule

The Montreal Impact and San Jose Earthquakes become the fifth and sixth MLS teams to enter teams in the PDL. A pair of USL PRO clubs also have added to their developmental structure with the Cincinnati Dutch Lions (Dayton Dutch Lions) and Pittsburgh Riverhounds U23  making their debuts.
 
Four other new PDL clubs in 2014: Albuquerque Sol FC, Las Vegas Mobsters, Floridians FC (merger of AC Miami and Schulz Academy) and Lane United FC (Eugene, Ore.).
 
Four teams have new names: FA Euro (formerly FA Euro-New York Magic), the Midland/Odessa Sockers (West Texas Sockers), NJ LUSO Parma (NJ LUSO Rangers) and Puget Sound Gunners FC (North Sound SeaWolves).
 
PDL clubs will again play 14-game schedules in 2014, seven home and seven away. The regular season runs through July 20. The playoffs featuring 19 teams follow.
 
The defending PDL champion is the Austin Aztex, which opens its 2014 season at home against the Houston Dutch Lions on May 10.
