Duke's Ibeagha lands in Danish second division

[AMERICANS ABROAD] Duke defender Sebastien Ibeagha, considered one of the top players in this year's senior class, has signed with Danish second division club Horsens. His MLS rights were held by Houston as a Homegrown player.

Ibeagha was shopped around Europe. Among the stops were Fulham and Aalborg before eventually landing at Horsens, which is second in the second division at the break. It had been relegated last spring from the SuperLiga.

“We have seen Sebastien for a few days, and he has left a very good impression,” Horsens head coach Johnny Molby, the former Danish international, said in a statement. “He is a young, exciting and physically strong player who among other things has made his name with a quiet game of ball. He has good potential that we need to work to redeem, and his approach means that we are less vulnerable and have even better competition for positions in the back line.”

Ibeagha, a former U-20, followed his brother, Christian, at Duke and to Europe. Christian joined Czech club Bohemians 1905 this season, though he did not make an appearance in the fall portion of the season.
