[AMERICANS ABROAD] Juan Agudelo scored his first goal for Dutch club FC Utrecht, hitting a rocket inside the near post in
its 2-1 loss to visiting PEC Zwolle in the Dutch Eredivisie on Thursday.
The goal came in the 24th minute as a ball into the area deflected off a defender to Agudelo, who turned with the
ball and fired a right-footed shot high into the goal. PEC came back to win on goals three minutes apart late in the second half.
The game was Agudelo's third in Europe since joining FC
Utrecht on loan from Stoke City. He had an assist in FC Utrecht's 1-1 tie with leader Ajax on Sunday. He is the second American to score for FC Utrecht.
John
O'Brien scored two goals for the clubs after leaving Ajax.
The loss dropped FC Utrecht into a tie for 12th place in the Eredivisie, just three points outside the relegation zone
after 22 games.
