Lloyd leads Americans past out-matched Russians

[USA-RUSSIA] The USA beat Russia, 7-0, in their women's international friendly Saturday afternoon at FAU Stadium in Boca Raton, Fla. The win extended the USA's unbeaten streak to 41 games.

The USA got two goals from Carli Lloyd and one from Heather O'Reilly to take a 3-0 lead at the half. Christen Press matched Lloyd with a pair of goals in the second half.

Lloyd, who also had an assist, hit the crossbar in the first half, and sub Megan Rapinoe also hit the crossbar and post in the second half against the out-matched Russians, who had to play the last 20 minutes with 10 players after defender Valentina Orlova took down Amy Rodriguez on a breakaway and was shown a straight red card for denying an obvious scoring opportunity. The USA finished with a 32-3 edge in shots and 18-1 edge in shots on goal.

The USA will face Russia again Wednesday at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta (live at 7:30 p.m. ET on ussoccer.com webcast).
