Own goal sets D.C. United on course to first win

[MLS PRESEASON: Carolina Challenge] After dropping all three games in Florida and not scoring a goal, D.C. United moved on to its old preseason stomping grounds at the Carolina Challenge Cup and pulled out a win. It took an own goal to break the drought, but it used that and a late goal by Jamaican teenager Michael Seaton to beat the Houston Dynamo, 2-0. A late penalty kick from Brad Evans gave Seattle a 2-1 win over the host Charleston Battery in the nightcap.

Nick DeLeon’s hard cross was intercepted by a retreating David Horst, but the first-year Dynamo defender was unable to control the deflection and it went past the advancing keeper Tyler Deric.
