Orlando City puts on show at Disney

[MLS 2014 COUNTDOWN] Orlando City gave notice to its fans and future MLS opponents that it can serve up some exciting soccer as the USL PRO champions played the Columbus Crew to a 4-4 tie at the Walt Disney World Pro Soccer Classic in a match that featured four goals in the last eight minutes.

Four times, Orlando City went ahead and four times the Crew, fielding mostly reserves, equalized. Orlando made it 3-2 and then 4-3 on goals by Adama Mbengue in the 82nd minute and Dennis Chin in the 88th, but the Crew answered each time within minutes with goals from and Justin Meram and Ethan Finlay.

“We’re still growing and are trying to put this next group of players together,” said Orlando City coach Adrian Heath afterwards. “Everyone’s still not on the same page with their roles and responsibilities but some of our play was excellent.”

-- Toronto FC remained winless at the Walt Disney World Pro Soccer Classic when it had to settle for a 0-0 tie with Philadelphia. Brazilian national team goalkeeper Julio Cesar was back in the nets for his second appearance of the preseason since joining Toronto from Queens Park Rangers on loan.
