Flash signs Spaniard Losada, Dane Sandvej joins Spirit

[NWSL 2014 COUNTDOWN] The internationalization of the NWSL continues with the signing of the Western New York Flash's second Spaniard, Vicky Losada, and the league's first Dane, Cecilie Sandvej, acquired by the Washington Spirit after spending the winter with Perth Glory in the Australian W-League.

Vicky, 22, is the captain at Barcelona, which won back-to-back La Liga titles in 2012 and 2013, and joins Adriana Martin on the Flash.

“I’m very excited to have the captain of FC Barcelona sign with us,” said Flash general manager and head coach Aaran Lines. “She’s a young player with tremendous upside. I’m happy that we are able to bring a new and exciting foreigner into the NWSL.”

Sandvej, 23, helped Broendby win three Danish Women's Elite Division league titles and has seven caps for Denmark. She made one appearance for the Danes at Euro 2013.

“Cecilie is going to bring great athletic ability, natural quality on the ball and experience,” said Washington general manager and head coach Mark Parsons. " She is a very versatile player with experience playing at the back or in midfield."
