Defoe expected to be ready to go for Toronto FC

[MLS 2014 COUNTDOWN] Toronto FC expects English signing Jermain Defoe to be ready to go for its 2014 opener at Seattle March 15. General manager Tim Bezbatchenko told reporters at training camp in Florida on Thursday that there was "nothing to be concerned about" with the hamstring injury that kept Defoe out of Thursday's Tottenham-Dnipro Europa league match, which would have been his last game for Spurs at White Hart Lane.

Defoe will join the England team for its friendly against Denmark on Wednesday. Bezbatchenko said he expected Defoe to join Toronto at the end of next week, in the March 7-9 window.
