U.S. U-23 women claim second straight win

[SIX NATIONS TOURNAMENT] The U.S. under-23 women’s national team beat Sweden, 2-1, on goals by Stanford forward Chioma Ubogagu and FC Kansas City draft pick Frances Silva to win its second game at the Six Nations Tournament in La Manga, Spain.

Ubogagu opened the scoring in the 16th minute after running onto a through ball from Portland Thorns midfielder Meleana Shim. Silva, one of six new starters from the team that opened with a 1-0 win over Sweden, added to the lead off an assist from Texas Tech defender Jaelene Hinkle.

The USA plays its third and final game Wednesday against Norway.
