Major League Soccer averaged 21,135 fans for its eight games on opening weekend, an increase of almost 8 percent over the 2013 average for Week
The opening weekend featured a record opening day crowd in Seattle (39,240) and three other announced sellouts in Houston, Portland and Vancouver.
Of the seven teams that
also debuted on Week 1 in 2013, only FC Dallas drew fewer fans this season.
The weekend lows were 13,840 (for D.C. United-Columbus with Mayor Vincent C.
