Five of the eight games for MLS's Week 2 were announced sellouts, including a record crowd in Portland. On the other hand, the announced crowd
of 6,684 for Chivas USA's home game against Vancouver was its second lowest ever.
Portland has sold out all 53 games since its MLS debut in 2011. The Timbers drew 20,814 Sunday for their
1-1 tie with Chicago at Providence Park.
Capacity at the Timbers' stadium was listed as 18,827 in 2011, 20,438 in 2012 and 20,674 in 2013 for the 2014 opener against Philadelphia.
Chivas USA, which has a win and tie in its first two games, drew only one lower crowd in 2013: 5,123 for a September game. It drew an announced crowd of 8,320 for its opener against Chicago. MLS Week 2: Attendance
