MLS Week 2: Goal of the Week nominees

[VIDEO PICK] It was a good week for the 30-somethings according to the AT&T MLS Goal of the Week nominations.

The diving header by 36-year-old Thierry Henry already famous for his cameraman celebration goes up against strikes from four 31-year-olds: Kyle Beckerman, Jermain Defoe, Clint Dempsey and Victor Bernardez.

The latter’s strike was impressive mainly because it gave San Jose a 3-3 tie five minutes into stoppage time. Defoe and Dempsey both connected well with the ball and chances they’d have rued had they not converted.

Beckerman’s long-range strike that bounced of the inside post is the one we think most impressive.

Which is your favorite? Any goals overlooked?

I didn't see the rest, but, as a Sounders fan, I have to say Defoe or Dempsey.
Of these...I would have to go with Defoe's 2nd goal. It really was amazing.

They only showed Defoe' 1st goal. Hm.

Kyle Beckerman struck the ball with enough of the outside of his left foot to put outside spin, thus bending the ball away from the keeper and into the post and net. A well-struck ball from distance that nets my vote for top goal.

Also, how can you vote if you only look at one goal? And then vote for your home team guy?
