What They're Saying

"(San Jose's players) all just sat back. Here (in Mexico), they say soccer has grown a lot in the United States, but I honestly don't know in what way. ... They just came to defend and wager on (scoring from) a set piece."

-- Toluca coach Jose Cardozo after playing the San Jose Earthquakes in the Concacaf Champions League quarterfinals, which Toluca won on PKs after a 1-1 aggregate tie. (Goal.com)

True, Jose, The Earthquake team you played might be marginal, but to criticize US players in general is a bit hypocritical. After all, Liga MX teams have been poaching youth players in CA and TX for years now. US hispanic youth players are better than Mexican youth players--ask your scouts and they'll tell you so.
