David Beckham, whose proposed MLS expansion project in Miami is well underway, believes that Major League Soccer needs to remove the salary cap in order to improve the quality ofplay in the American soccer league. The former LA Galaxy midfielder and England international believes the league would be able to attract more big name players without the cap, which is currently setat $3.1 million. Of course, the cap does not include the up to three Designated Players that each club can sign who can be paid beyond the $387,500 maximum salary with minimal impact on the cap.
