Cristiano Ronaldo ties Messi scoring record

[UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE] Cristiano Ronaldo tied Lionel Messi's single-season record for goals in the UEFA Champions League with his 14th goal of the season in Real Madrid's 3-0 win over Borussia Dortmund. Paris St. Germain will head to London with a two-goal cushion thanks to a stoppage-time goal from Argentine Javier Pastore that clinched a 3-1 win in Wednesday's other match.

Ronaldo's second-half goal, which came in his eighth game of the season, followed goals from Gareth Bale in the third minute and Isco in the 27th.

The PSG-Chelsea game was tied at 1-1 when the home team went ahead on an own goal, and Pastore added to the PSG lead when he beat three defenders with a mazy run along the right endline and beat Petr Cech to the near post with a low shot.

The win could have been costly for PSG, though, as star Zlatan Ibrahimovic went off with a hamstring injury in the middle of the second half.

The record is from the Brazilian Mazzola, 14 goals in 9 games, no pks and no freekicks...these newest soccer stars are trying to break the record set 50 years ago. Just for the record!
