Howard's Everton jumps ahead of Arsenal

[AMERICANS ABROAD] While Arsenal was struggling to put away Wigan in the semifinals of the FA Cup, Tim Howard's Everton moved ahead of the Gunners and into fourth place in the English Premier League with a 1-0 win at Sunderland, its seventh straight victory. Jozy Altidore, listed as injured, again sat out for the Black Cats, who are seven points in the relegation zone with five games to play.

-- Edgar Castillo and Joe Corona started for Tijuana, which picked up a huge point with a 1-1 tie at Tigres thanks to a late goal. Xolos are tied for fourth place with two games to play in the Torneo Clausura regular season.

-- Oguchi Onyewu returned to action for Sheffield Wednesday in a 3-3 draw with Blackburn Rovers.

FRIDAY. Sacha Kljestan, whose season at Anderlecht began so brightly with seven league goals in the first two and a half months and another goal in the UEFA Champions League, finds himself on the bench in the Belgian league playoffs.

He didn't get off the bench as Anderlecht, the two-time defending champion, earned a key 2-1 win at Lokeren on Friday that moved it to within two points of idle Standard Liege.

-- Alfredo Morales scored his first goal for Ingolstadt in its 2-1 loss to Paderborn in the German second division.

-- Jermaine Jones helped set up the lone Besiktas goal in a 1-1 tie with Konyaspor.

Why would we not have Aron Jonhansson on our world cup line up?
